The grant
On purchase you receive a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use these materials for the seats you bought. Perpetual means exactly that: the files remain yours permanently, including after the twelve-month update window closes, and including if you take a refund. There is nothing to renew and nothing that deactivates.

On patient-facing materials specifically
Handouts, discharge instructions and education materials you adapt from these templates are yours to use with your patients under your own name or clinic branding, with no attribution required and no royalty. That is the point of them. The only thing you cannot do is package them up and sell them as a product.
Practice Suite, up to ten clinicians
The Practice Suite licenses the same materials to an organization for up to ten named clinicians, plus the governance documents, which are licensed to the organization itself.
- Each of the ten may use the materials exactly as a Clinician Suite holder does.
- Seats are named but reassignable, when someone leaves, give their seat to their replacement. You are not buying ten permanent slots for ten specific people forever.
- The AI-use policy, tool register and permitted-use schedule may be rebranded into your organization's own document templates and adopted as internal policy. That is what they are for.
- Internal training use across the licensed group is permitted, including presenting the material to your own staff.
- Distribution beyond ten clinicians, or to a separate legal entity, requires an enterprise license.
More than ten clinicians, a multi-site group, or a health system: email us and we will price it properly rather than making you buy the wrong thing repeatedly.
What we claim no rights over
Your clinical content is entirely yours
Anything you write into these structures, every note, letter, appeal, handout and policy you produce using them, belongs to you and your organization completely. We assert no ownership, no license and no interest of any kind in your output, and we never see it.
Attribution
No attribution is required for ordinary clinical use, including patient-facing materials. If you are quoting the method in teaching, writing or a presentation, attribution to The Attending is appreciated and not obligatory.
If the license is breached
Material breach, chiefly redistribution or resale: terminates the license. In practice we will email you first and ask you to stop, because the overwhelming majority of sharing is a generous colleague rather than a bad actor, and a colleague who is told is usually mortified rather than defiant.
If a colleague sent you these files and you are reading this page to find out where you stand: nothing happens to you. Buy a seat if the materials earn it, or delete them if they do not. That is the entire consequence.
